Ring round the Moon

Synopsis

Look around ....

You are in the conservatory of the ancestral home of a family of some means and importance in pre-war France.

The warm sun beats down through the glass and the greenery helps you relax. It is a wonderful Spring morning. There is to be a ball this evening when Frederic will announce his engagement to Diana, the daughter of a wealthy Jewish businessman.

Hugo’s impish sense of humour has lead him to hire the services of a ballet dancer this evening, hoping her presence and charm, beauty and poise will awaken the love of Frederic and that Diana will notice Frederic's interest and be madly jealous.

What can possibly go wrong? 'Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!'

Act I Scene 1 Morning
Act I Scene 2 That evening – before the ball
Interval
Act II Scene 1 The same evening – during the ball
Act II Scene 2 The same evening – after Supper
Act II Scene 3 The same evening – actually dawn the next day

TAKE CARE lest you too become entangled in the complicated and carefully constructed charade in the conservatory....
