Harare airport

We spent the afternoon packing and doing some final shopping, waiting for a friend to come at 6.45 p.m. and take us to the airport.

This is a rather unusual event in various ways: having a holiday that does not involve visiting relatives; travelling other than to the UK or SA and also travelling with such a large party.

Horus: the Egypt Air logo

We are travelling by Egypt Air. They have a most beautiful and striking logo in the shape of a harp, based on the bird Horus.

We took off at 22.52. Screens folded smoothly away on take-off and then slid down again immediately after, showing maps and statistics about the flight. We were served some nice food: fish plus a salad and a pud. No alcohol was available but there was an unusually good range of soft drinks. After watching a film I fell asleep.
